Dr. Martin L. King 1929-1968
Champion for equality.
"I have a Dream (1963) that one day
this nation will rise up, live out the true
meaning of it's creed. We hold these truths
to be self evident that all men are created equal."
Jessie Sleet Scales
1900 — Jessie Sleet Scales was the first black district nurse in NYC and
the first black public health nurse in the US. Thereby, paving the way for other black health care workers.
This young man was literally killed by hate!
Championed for those who were too young to fight for themselves.
She died so young but she
will not be forgotten.
